Lost and Found???
"Mrs. Tennison... Why do they call lost and found, lost and found? Because, if it is lost and I find it, then it's found." "You are right honey, but you are not the person who lost it?"" I know Mrs. Tennison, but we find it and then go put it somewhere else (the lost and found) and it's lost again!!! People just need to take care if their things...." "I agree!!"

PJ's at school?
Tomorrow the students and teachers in kinder and first grade get to wear their PJ's to school. We are "Camping Out!" and reading books! Due to the TAKS testing this week, the children have not been able to participate in specials daily. (PE/ART/MUSIC etc) Therefore, the children are rewarded with a fun day in PJ's. When I was asking and reminding students about PJ day, one of my students asked me if I was going to wear my Pj's..."Of coarse!" When they found this out, one of my students replied, "My mom says that her PJ's are inappropriate for school." I just smiled and looked away. It's amazing what little ears hear!!!!

Shhh... It's a Surprise!
On Friday I was told, "Happy Birthday!" about 3 different times. I thought this was weird...as my birthday isn't until August 15th. I told one little girl, "Honey, my birthday isn't till this summer." Another child looked over at her and said, "Shhh.... it’s a surprise! We can't tell her!" I just grinned and looked away.
My students and parents threw me a surprise early birthday on Friday! I was gifted with the sweetest scrapbook that made me cry! I truly have the sweetest children and the BEST parents!!

Out of Breath
So, this cute, funny, back talking story comes from one of my team members students.
"Joe, please stop running around the classroom. I have asked you many times to get to work." "Miss C, I'm not running around the room!" "Yes, you are sweet heart, you are out of breath!" "No I’m not.... huh huh.. see, I still have lots of breath....."

April Fool's Day
April 1st was such a fun day! The children "attempted" to play jokes on me all day! All of the teachers wore their PJ's and pulled a prank on the kids! It was great and slippers all day..... even better!!!
2 of my favorite...
Child: Mrs. Tennison, look (pointing to my slippers) you have no laces..... April Fools!
My response: Umm, sweetheart, slippers don't have laces.
Child: Oh.. I don't get this April Fools Joke thing!
Child: Mrs. Tennison.... "Happy Fool's Day!!"

Tattling is for the weekend!
Tattling is for the weekends!
Tattling in Kindergarten is second nature for some children…. There is the, “He took my pencil.” “She said, I’m rude.” “I was here first.” And the list goes on and on and on…. One day, the tattling was over kill!
I told the children, “Alright, Mrs. Tennison only listens to tattling on Saturday and Sundays!” Believe me… it was great! Not one more tattle the rest of the afternoon.
The next day a child walked up to me and said, “I know it’s not Saturday... but...
Out of the mouths of babes!
